Ugly scenes erupted on the pitch post-match, following AC Milan’s meeting with Cagliari on Saturday evening.
This comes amid claims that Fikayo Tomori was one of several Milan stars to have been subjected to racial abuse on the part of the home support inside the Sardegna Arena.
Footage of the incident can be seen below.
Both Tomori and Rossoneri teammate Mike Maignan take centre stage, with the former clearly seen pointing towards his ears, to draw attention to the sounds emanating from the stands.
A number of Italian publications, in turn, have confirmed that the two Milan stars were subjected to disgusting race-themed abuse.
Something of a scuffle subsequently broke out between the two sets of players, as well as coaching staff, on another ugly night for both Serie A, and Italian football as a whole:
A confusão no final em Cagliari, com mais um episódio de racismo envolvendo os ultras locais. Maignan e Tomori revoltados.
Não adianta fazer campanha com vídeos bonitinhos se os mesmos responsáveis por isso continuam frequentando os estádios.pic.twitter.com/SDQAj5eqEn

Bennacer the difference
Turning attentions back towards the action itself in Sardinia, Stefano Pioli’s visitors, when all was said and done, were afforded the last laugh.
This comes after a solitary goal proved enough to see Milan reestablish their advantage at the Serie A summit.
After Napoli got the better of Udinese earlier today, the Rossoneri were aware that only a victory would prove enough to restore their 3-point advantage over Luciano Spalletti and co.
And, when all was said and done, emerge triumphant is precisely what they managed, owing to a wonderful strike on the part of Ismael Bennacer just shy of the hour mark:
Wonderful volley!! 😍
