Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic side return to Premiership action this weekend, with Ross County making the trip to Parkhead for Saturday’s 15:00 kick-off.
And, following a comprehensive 3-0 win over Dundee United in the Scottish Cup quarter-final on Monday, the 56-year-old Bhoys boss will undoubtedly be hoping for yet another positive result and performance against Malky Mackay’s sixth-placed County side in order to keep the Hoops’ title charge on track.
Are you confident of a result today?
So, will Postecoglou make any changes to the team that started the victory at Tannadice last time out? Here’s how we think Celtic could line up against Ross County, as well as the latest team and injury news…
With it being recently suggested that both Jota and Liel Abada are in line for a return to Postecoglou’s starting XI after missing out against Dundee United earlier this week, as well as the 56-year-old revealing that James Forrest is unavailable and hinting that David Turnbull may be involved, we predict the Greek-Australian manager will make just two changes to the side that lined up at Tannadice on Monday.
The back five remains unchanged, with Joe Hart starting between the Celtic sticks, and Greg Taylor, Carl Starfelt, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Josip Juranovic making up the defensive quartet.
In the middle of the park, McGregor retains his starting berth at the base of the Bhoys’ three-man midfield, while Matt O’Riley – who Bhoys Analytics dubbed the “best player in Scotland” – and Reo Hatate get the nod ahead of the £23.5k-per-week Turnbull.
The two changes come in attack, with Karamoko Dembele being handed his first start under Postecoglou in the place of the injured Forrest, while Jota returns on the left and Giorgos Giakoumakis starts up top – with Daizen Maeda dropping to the bench.
