Juventus boss Max Allegri responds to Dybala spat claims

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has, on Saturday, provided an insight into the ‘falling out’ behind he and star man Paulo Dybala.

For those not aware, speculation had been rampant across the Italian media over the course of the last 24 hours, centering on key Bianconeri duo Allegri and Dybala.

This came amid the suggestion that a training ground bust-up had seen the relationship between the pair dealt a considerable blow, ahead of the club’s fast-approaching showdown with Salernitana.

Reports pointed towards a meeting called by Dybala and teammate Juan Cuadrado with Allegri, during which the two players requested an alteration to their training schedule for Saturday, to allow for further time off.

Juve’s boss, however, was left surprised and irked by the request, culminating in a heated back and forth between he and Dybala.

With the latter’s contract in Turin of course inching ever closer towards expiring in the summer, Allegri, in turn, was inevitably drawn on such media speculation during his latest press conference this afternoon.

The Italian tactician, though, was keen to play the subject down, albeit whilst admitting that some form of discussion did indeed take place.

”They made a request and I said no”, Allegri began.

”Nothing happened, but really, on the contrary, they understood and they were good with it, anyway after today’s training we remained in retreat.”

Salernitana test

Turning attentions back towards the task at hand at Juventus, as alluded to above, Allegri is set to lead his troops back into action on Sunday afternoon.

A Serie A meeting with bottom-of-the-table Salernitana lies in wait, at the Juventus Stadium.

The Old Lady will head into proceedings in desperate search of a bounce-back result, having seen a fine spell of recent form brought to an alarming end in midweek courtesy of a 3-0 drubbing and subsequent exit from the Champions League at the hands of Villarreal.

Nevertheless, though, should Juve, as expected, ultimately emerge with all three points, then they will close the gap on champions Inter Milan in 3rd to just a solitary point, a feat which looked near impossible just weeks ago.
